This is an LED illuminated company logo I have just completed for a friend.
The total size is 155mmW x140mmH. The lighting is from within the base and consists of a 9 LED strip. The following photos are fairly much self explanatory as to the design basics and the main machining steps. Both the aluminium base components were anodised and left natural. I sprayed the front of the base black then cleaning off the excess to highlight the engraved lettering. It is powered by a small 12VDC inverter plug pack.
This is a concept I developed late in late 2009 initially just as an experiment to see how engraved or machined perspex could be use with edge lighting. If you go to my Photo Index Page and select Clocks you will see how I have adapted this within some of my clock designs.
GHQP Perspex Logo Jan 2009 KHLOE Night Light - Jan 2009 ZACH Night Light - Jan 2009
These are some of the first designs. The KHLOE & ZACH ones were made for friends children to be used as night lights. There have been other similar ones, just different names. The base design for these was much different and complex from the one above. For future projects like this I will use the above "elavAte design.
